Aim: The current study aimed to study the effect of early versus late cord clamping of term infants on maternal and neonatal outcomes. Design: A quasi-experimental study design was used. Setting : Labour ward affiliated at Obstetrics and Gynecology department at Benha University Hospital. Sampling: Purposive sample included 340 women divided into 2 equal groups (group1 early cord clamping and group2 late cord clamping).Tools of data collection: I-Structured interviewing questionnaire sheet consisted of two parts. II- Maternal outcomes measures. III- Neonatal outcomes measures. Result. There was no statistical significant difference between early and late cord clamping regarding the duration of different stages of labor and postpartum laboratory investigation findings including maternal hemoglobin level and hematocrit at birth, and after four hours. There was a highly statistical significant difference ( p<0.001) between early and late cord clamping groups in relation to neonatal hemoglobin, hematocrit, and ferritin. There was no statistical significant difference (p>0.05) between both groups regarding total bilirubin after 4 hours. Conclusion: delayed cord clamping improves neonatal hemoglobin and ferritin levels without causing any harm to maternal or neonatal outcomes. Also delayed cord clamping doesn't increase postpartum hemorrhage or duration of third stage of labour. Recommendation: increasing awareness of the routine delayed cord clamping by obstetricians and midwives to achieve mothers and neonates benefit.

Hemophilia is a coagulation disorder arising from a genetic defect of the X chromosome; the defect can either be inherited or result from spontaneous gene mutation. In each type of hemophilia (A, B, C, and willebrands disease), a critical coagulation protein is missing, causing children to bleed for long periods of time before clotting occurs. Aim: this study was a quasi- experimental aimed to evaluate the outcomes of the instructional module on the studied sample. Setting: the study was carried out at hematology departments at children's hospitals affiliated to Ain Shams University Hospital (Al Demerdash) Cairo University Hospital (Abo Elreesh) and Benha children's Hospital affiliated to ministry of health. The Sampling: A convenient sample involved Fifty nurses from the previously mentioned settings. Tools of data collection: involved a structure questionnaire to assess nurses' knowledge and observational checklists to assess performance regarding care of children with hemophilia and instructional module about hemophilia. Results: Slightly less than half (46.0% &48%) of the studied nurses their ages were 30 years and more, had nursing diploma from technical institute of nursing respectively, less than two thirds of the nurses (62%) had experience ≥ 6years, Post implementation of the instructional module most of the studied nurses had satisfactory level of knowledge and competent practice in comparison to pre implementation of the instructional module. Breast cancer (BC) is a major public health problem worldwide. It is the second leading cause of death after lung cancer. More than half of patients with BC receive systemic chemotherapy as a form of treatment. They are good at killing cancer cells, but they can temporarily weaken immunity. The damaged to normal cells cause common unpleasant side effects including, nausea, vomiting , fatigue, infection…etc. The body's immune system is designed to fight off and recognize these abnormal cancer cells and kill them. For this reason if BC has been diagnosed, it is of great importance to re-build and keep the immune system in a good fighting condition. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of immune enhancement intervention on clinical outcomes of patients with BC undergoing chemotherapy. The research design was quasi-experimental design. Setting: It was conducted at the clinical oncology department at Nasser Institute hospital(Cairo).Sample: A purposive sample included 100 patients divided into control and study groups. Tools of data collection: Data were collected using structured interview questionnaire, Australia-modified Karn of sky performance status scale, quality of life assessment scale & nutritional assessment sheet including laboratory investigation &tumor markers. The results: Showed that; (60% and 52%) of the study group and (68% and 48%) of control group were married and aged (50 - 70 years old) respectively and there was a highly significant difference existed between the two groups regarding their knowledge, quality of life, performance status for usual activities and nutritional status post intervention which in turn lead to highly significant decrease the tumor biomarkers among study group versus control group P<0.001. Conclusion: Immune enhancement intervention program had statistical significant positive effect on clinical outcomes of patients with BC undergoing chemotherapy. Recommendations: Further study is recommended to conduct the training and teaching of nurses about the immune enhancement intervention program and evaluate its impact on their performance and consequently on patients outcomes on the long run.

There are interrelated factors can magnified the incidence and severity of post lumbar puncture headache. Aim: This study aimed to assess factors contributing to headache and its associated symptoms for post-lumbar puncture patients. Design: A descriptive explorative design was utilized in the current study. Setting: This study conducted in general surgery, orthopedic, gynecology and urology departments at Beni-Suef University Hospital. Study subjects: Convenient sample of 80 patients included from the above-mentioned setting from both genders. (II) Tension Headache Dairy: To assess patients for post lumbar puncture headache and its associated symptoms. Results: Revealed that more than half of studied subjects had post lumbar puncture headache and there was significant relation between post lumbar puncture headache and age, gender, educational level, past history of headache, needle diameter, and number of dural puncture trails. Conclusion: overall, the study showed that there were interrelated factors affecting on post lumbar puncture headache incidence that include non-modifiable factors related to patients' characteristics as age, gender, past history of headache, pregnancy and past history of previous lumbar puncture headache. While, there were modifiable factors related to lumbar puncture procedure and practitioner experience that include needle diameter, number of trails to enter subarachnoid space, amount of cerebrospinal fluid lost during procedure.
