Cerebral palsy is a term used to describe a collection of disorders caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the brain that occurs around the time of birth or early in life. This study aimed to evaluate the intervention program for mothers regarding dependency level of their children with CP. Setting the current data was Neurology out- patient clinic at pediatric hospital Ain Shams University. Sample, The study was conducted on one hundred and twenty four mothers who have been selected for the program pre, post, and after 3 month later. Tools: Two tools for data collection, tool (I) An interviewing questionnaire sheet (II) Child‟s activities of daily living assessment. Results of this study showed that the main age of mothers was 37.6 ± 0.6 years and noticeable improvement in the mothers‟ knowledge and practice and dependency level of their children were detected after implementation of intervention program compared to pre and 3 month after program implementation. So, this study concluded that intervention program affected positively regarding caring of mothers regarding dependency level of their children with cerebral palsywhich indicate justification of the study hypotheses. this study recommended that Educational sessions should be provided for mothers of cerebral palsy children about care of their children, as well as, community resources from whom they may seek assistance and support to fulfill with all dependency level of their CP child.}, keywords = {Cerebral palsy, independency level,Practice}, url = {https://ejhc.journals.ekb.eg/article_10103.html}, eprint = {https://ejhc.journals.ekb.eg/article_10103_4032b2c7193b53e9ed6d4a21b3173456.pdf} } @article { author = {SF, Amira and AE, Mona and RA, Soad and MA, Rehab}, title = {Women's Feelings regarding Vaginal Examination during Normal Childbirth}, journal = {Egyptian Journal of Health Care}, volume = {9}, number = {2}, pages = {15-23}, year = {2018}, publisher = {Ain Shams University, Faculty of Nursing}, issn = {1687-9546}, eissn = {3009-6766}, doi = {10.21608/ejhc.2018.10104}, abstract = {Aim: The study aimed to assess women's feelings regarding vaginal examination during childbirth. Design: Cross-sectional analytical study was utilized to conduct the study .Setting: The study was conducted at Benha and Ain Shams Technical Institute of Nursing .The study sample: composed of 285 nursing students as: 210 students from Benha University and 75 students from Ain Shams University were recruited for the study. Tools of data collection: Three tools were utilized for data collection of this study; problem solving knowledge questionnaire sheet composed of 21 multiple choose questions, problem solving abilities questionnaire sheet composed of six groups of questions and self –esteem scale composed of 20 items divided into three sub-scales. Results: The study findings revealed that the majority of students (74.4%) were having unsatisfactory total knowledge of problem solving, less than two thirds (61.4 %) having total adequate problem solving ability and slightly less than half of the nursing students (48.1%) were having high self esteem. Conclusion: There was statistically significant positive correlation between problem solving knowledge and abilities, also there was statistically significant positive correlation between nursing student's self esteem and their problem solving abilities. The study recommended: Technical Institutes of Nursing should adopt problem solving educational approach with training teachers in its application and students need more support and practice to increase their abilities, skills and increasing their self esteem which needs some consideration. The third tool was five point Likert scale for themother's satisfaction with pain relief. Results: At the baseline assessment, there was no significantdifference in the NPRS pain score between the two groups. However, immediately after effleuragemassage, the NPRS pain score was significantly lower in the intervention group than in the controlgroup (5.9 ± 0.8 vs. 6.3 ± 0.9, p < 0.039).
