Abstract

Background: job satisfaction among patients with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is influenced by factors such as disease severity, psychological adjustment, and social support. patients often face challenges like stigma, fear of disclosing their diagnosis, and workplace discrimination, which can negatively affect job satisfaction. Aim of the study: assess job satisfaction among patient with multiple sclerosis. Study Design: A descriptive research design was used in the study. Setting: The study was taking place at the outpatient neuropsychiatric clinic at Haram Specialist Hospital in Giza Governorate. Sample: A Purposive sample was used in this study with total sample The 194 patients represent 50% Tools: three tools were used in the study. Tool I: interview questionnaire was covering the Two parts: Part A: Demographic characteristics, part B: Patient medical history Tool II: Health Status Scale, Tool III:  Employee job satisfaction scale Result: Disease onset commonly occurred between ages 30–40 38.7%. The majority were employed 41.2% or engaged in other work 33%. Physical limitations reduced activity time for 67% of patients, and 61.3% experienced persistent emotional role limitations. Regarding health, 48.4% were mostly satisfied, while 49% rated their health as poor. Job satisfaction was low, with 61.9% reporting dissatisfaction. Conclusion: The study revealed that 48.4% of patients experienced extreme pain, only 12.9% were mostly satisfied with their quality of life. Job satisfaction was notably low, with 61.9% disagreeing they were satisfied. Moreover, 42.8% of patients reported constant interference in social activities due to health issues. Recommendations: create flexible work environments such as offering remote work options or flexible hours. Raising awareness and promote understanding among employers and Open communication
