Current Predictors of Quality of Life among Pregnant Women in Assiut City

Abstract

Background: Pregnancy is a transitional period accompanied by significant physical and emotional changes that affect the quality of life of pregnant women. Quality of life is influenced by various factors, making regular assessments essential to understand the health status of pregnant women and provide appropriate interventions. Aim: This study aims to identify the current Predictors of quality of life among pregnant women in Assiut city. Design: A cross-sectional design was employed, conducted in the outpatient clinics of Assiut University Hospital. The sample included 110 healthy pregnant women, and data were collected using the World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire (WHOQOL-BREF). Results: The mean overall quality of life score was moderate (6.44 ± 1.56). The mean physical health score was also moderate (6.22 ± 1.42), and the mean psychological health score was 2.88 ± 0.60. Social relationship, and Environment correlation between the current predictor variables shows Physical score is a strong positively correlated with Healthy (r=0.273, p= .004). Conclusion and recommendations the findings indicates that the quality of life among pregnant women is significantly influenced by general health status, nutrition, and social support. The study recommends enhancing health, psychological, and social programs for pregnant women, and expanding future studies to generalize the results.
